CHICAGO (CBS) — Investigators are calling a fatal crash in Chicago's South Loop a homicide. Giselle Chavez, 21, was killed early Saturday morning when the car she was in was hit by a tow truck. Her sister and a 19-year-old man were critically injured.

A 29-year-old man was dead on the scene of a traffic crash early Monday on the Eisenhower Expressway on the West Side.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A young woman is dead, and two other people are critically injured after a serious crash in the South Loop early Saturday morning, Chicago police said. Police said the crash happened in the 100-block of West Roosevelt Road just before 2:15 a.m.

Chicago police said a tow truck driver backed into an SUV, causing it to strike the victim's vehicle, which then lost control and struck a wall.

A man wanted in connection with a fatal DUI crash on Chicago's Far South Side earlier this year has been charged.

The victim was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. Kris Habermehl reports from CBS Skywatch.

Thieves crashed a vehicle after carjacking a woman at gunpoint Thursday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood, according to police. It happened just before 11 p.m. in the 9900 block of South Halsted Street.
