Congress has lodged a complaint against PM Modi and Home Minister Shah, alleging false and divisive comments made during the recent election campaign, specifically targeting Congress in rallies held on November 8th.

New Delhi: The Congress has lodged complaints with the Election Commission against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of making "false, divisive, malicious and slanderous" statements during their recent election campaign.

Congress on Thursday wrote to the Election Commission asking the poll body to ban Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah from election campaign in Maharashtra and Jharkhand for making "false" remarks in the speeches.

In the case of the PM, Congress alleged that he had made “false, malicious and slanderous statements” targeting the party and its allies during a speech in Nashik on November 8.
