Week 11 of the 2024 college football season wasn't full of banner performances for FBS teams from the state of Florida. It marked the first time in the FBS era -- dating back to 1978 -- that a state went 0-6 in a single week.

With Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman and Stetson, the Sunshine State’s record on Saturday fell to 0-8 — the worst one-day showing in state history by FBS and FCS teams. Florida A&M lost to Prairie View 31-12, Bethune-Cookman fell 25-23 to Southern in five overtimes and previously winless Marist beat Stetson 40-31.

Every Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision team in the state’s 53,663.7 square miles lost. Think about going 0-8 for a moment. One might even laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
