A Colorado State Patrol trooper who was investigating a crash in southern Colorado was seriously injured when the patrol car he was in was struck by another vehicle.

Trooper Tyler Atkins of the Colorado State Patrol was hit by a DUI suspect on Highway 115, but has since been released from the hospital.
