The third T20I match between India and South Africa at Centurion faced an unexpected delay due to a swarm of flying ants on the field. The umpires, after discussions with both teams, decided to suspend play as the insects were present in large numbers.

The third Twenty20 International between South Africa and India was halted early in the home side’s reply after a wave of flying ants descended on Centurion Park in Pretoria on Wednesday and forced the players from the field.

After India had set hosts South Africa a target of 220,Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks scored seven in one over when play had to be stopped as insects caused the play to stop

South Africa won the toss and invited India to bat first at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. India and South Africa are locked at 1-1 in the series.

Tilak Varma was the star for India in the third T20I against South Africa as they won the match by 11 runs. The elegant left-hander became the 12th Indian player to score a century in the shortest format.
